Midsummer...a New Chapter (oh...and blue hair!)

It's been a while, again, since I returned to Dreams and Teacups because....well...life happens. I was on standby mode since this year started due to important, difficult decisions I had to make and with that, free time was short. It still is; however, I must work on my motivation and on what makes me happy and, more important, work on things that can take me further in life. The need of building something solid, positive and real that belongs truly to me is becoming bigger than ever - that satisfaction and fulfillment at the end of the day. Routine can distract us quite easily from our goals, don't you think? I must add, though: those difficult decisions payed off.
Here I am, nevertheless and even if I don't have new illustrations to show this time, I surely have some good, happy snaps of my day to day to share on the blog. Actually, I did have some awesome moments, from good food and friends, walks in greenhouses, to my birthday and...Florence and the Machine's concert (she's brilliant, a goddess, really)!
As I'm not having much free time, the least I can do is make the most out of the simple, daily moments with my loved ones (and relax whenever I can, with cats and books).
Plus...did I mention I have blue hair? I wanted to do something like this for so long but I wanted to make sure of what was going to work best for me, hair, skin tone, maintenance, etc. So, blue hair it is and I'm loving it. People stare at me a bit, which is annoying but it doesn't bother me that much now.
Anyway, weekend is knocking at our doors and I have some illustrations on my mind that I can't wait to transfer onto paper. So, it's going to be a weekend of art for me, with tea, cake, cats and some series to catch up and, who knows, enjoy some sun.
What about you, do you also feel that routine can, sometimes, steal your creativity? What do you do to simplify your tasks through the day and still have time and energy to do what you really love? I would love to hear from you! Happy weekend!

Lots of Love, Helena
